FAQ

  1. Are we a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization?

Neither. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) treats us as a tax-exempt IRC Section 527 political organization. A political organization subject to section 527 is a party, committee, association, fund, or other organization (whether or not incorporated) organized and operated primarily for the purpose of directly or indirectly accepting contributions or making expenditures, or both, for an exempt function. A 527 group is created primarily to influence the selection, nomination, election, appointment or defeat of candidates to federal, state or local public office. Please note that although we are exempt from paying taxes, donations or contributions made to us are NOT tax-deductible by the individuals making those donations or contributions.

  1. Can we host or sponsor drag bingo?

No, while Bingo is one of the few forms of legal gambling in the state of Texas, state law only allows for certain charitable organizations to conduct bingo games and the proceeds can only be used for charitable purposes.
