Committees

All members are encouraged to serve on the committee(s) of their choice.

The Standing Committees of Collin County Stonewall democrats, and what they do, are:

Board Development Committee

The Board Development Committee recruits new members for the Board, assists in preparing the ballot for Board elections at the annual meeting and reviews Board/nominations policies and procedures.

Budget and Finance Committee

The Budget and Finance Committee assists the Treasurer in preparing the annual budget, submits amendments to the budget during the fiscal year, sets fiscal policy and makes other financial recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee develops mechanisms (e.g., monthly newsletter, e-mail communications, website updates, etc.) for enhancing communications to keep CCSD members informed of meetings, events, and news items relevant to CCSD’s mission and purposes and developing similar mechanisms for promoting awareness of CCSD and enhancing its image to the LGBTQIA2S+ community and the community-at-large. The Communications Committee also is responsible for working with the President in the coordination and timely issuance of approved media releases. The CCSD webmaster or website administrator shall be a member of this committee.

Endorsement Committee

The Endorsement Committee is responsible for coordinating the candidate screening and endorsement process during each election cycle; disseminating CCSD’s list of endorsements to the LGBT community and community-at-large; and recommending to the Board the scope of the dissemination of the list of endorsements and those candidates or ballot measures which merit financial and volunteer support from CCSD.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee promotes membership growth and retention in CCSD; provides dues renewal notices to members; maintains and updates all membership records and mailing list databases; certifies the eligibility of new members to the Board; publishes and updates a membership directory for members; and coordinates outreach and recruitment activities. The Membership Committee also works with the Treasurer to ensure timely remittance of dues to the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus.
